Understand your Cleansing Milk
Face cleansing is the most fundamental and important step for all your skin care procedures. Due to the prosperity in skin care industry and the advancement in skin care technology, you can probably find all types of face cleanser available. If you choose the wrong face cleanser, you may bring a disaster to you face.
There are many different types of facial cleansing products like cleansing powder, cleansing mousse and non rinse cleansing water, etc. Cleansing milk is one of the various types. When the skin care product companies sell their products on many different functions like whitening, moisturizing and nourishing, you may not expect the strong functional effect. As the cleanser will not stay on your face for a long time, the effect is going to be minimized.
To evaluate cleansing milk, you should consider the cleansing power, mildness, foaming power and the moisturizing power. In general, the foam power and moisturizing power are in inverse proportion. The cleansing milk that can produce plenty amount of foam usually contains more activated ingredients. There ingredients have great cleansing power, but affect the fat layer in epidermis and the moisturizing function in skin.
Many cleansing milks claim that they have whitening and exfoliating function. Such functions usually come from the cleansing milk ingredients like BHA or Tartaric Acid (a type of AHA). BHA and Tartaric acid soften and remove the upper layer of dead skin, but meanwhile cause irritation and allergy to skin. You may also find some cleansing milks that contain hyaluronic acid and butanediol. Hyaluronic acid and butanediol are very powerful moisturizing ingredients. Such products are especially suitable for people having dry or sensitive skin.
With the many different brands available, consumers have the right to choose the best one. Therefore, you need not to stick to the same brand all the time. But, if you switch or change your cleansing milk too often like every week, there is a problem. When the frequency of change is that high, you skin may be unable to adapt to the difference in acidity or alkalinity of the different cleansing milks. This may cause skin decortications. You are advised to change only when you have used all your existing one.
Normally, you do not use your cleansing milk alone. You have to at least use it with water. Water temperature affects the functioning of the cleansing milk, too. If the water is too cold, your pores tights up; if the water is too hot, you skin get irritated. Lukewarm water is the best to cleanse your face. Hard water is less favorable than the soft one as it contains too many minerals.
